Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Cybersecurity Analyst specializing in Network Security to join our cybersecurity team in South Africa. The role is fully remote and focused on safeguarding digital assets by monitoring networks, detecting threats, and responding to incidents.

You will work with SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs, perform vulnerability assessments, and help develop security policies while staying abreast of evolving threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, IT, or cybersecurity.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity with emphasis on network security and incident response.
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
• Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs, for suspicious activities and potential threats.
• Analyze security alerts and logs using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools to identify and investigate security incidents.
• Perform incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery, to mitigate the impact of security breaches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance network defense.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, network vulnerabilities, and recommended remediation actions.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security awareness training programs for employees.

Requirements
