Job summary

Surgo in Cape Town CBD is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Analyst for a project-based contract. You will apply knowledge of Microsoft and Linux systems, networking and cybersecurity technologies to support vulnerability assessments, incident investigations, monitoring, phishing and security awareness training, progressively taking ownership.

You will report to the cybersecurity team, create high-quality reports, and discuss findings with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Cybersecurity/IT MSP role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
• Networking and Workplace technologies knowledge.
• Cybersecurity solutions and related technologies knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Customer-facing experience and ability to manage client relationships.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced threat landscape.

Location:Based inCape Town CBD - Work from Office Only

Working hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 19:00 pm

Project Based Contract Role

We are undergoing an exciting time in our evolution and now seek to add a highly motivated, enthusiastic Cyber Security Analyst to our Cybersecurity division. This role will draw upon your knowledge of Microsoft and Linux systems, as well as Networking and Cybersecurity technologies. You will initially support senior colleagues to carry out a variety of services including Vulnerability Assessments, investigation of security incidents, cyber-attack monitoring, Phishing & Security Awareness Training, and eventually working towards completing these independently.

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for interacting with a range of clients, using excellent communication skills along with your proven technical ability to provide a first-class customer experience. You will also be required to create high-quality reports from your findings, discussing solutions with a variety of stakeholders.

Essential:
Previous experience within a Cybersecurity/IT MSP role
Working Knowledge of the following:
o Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems
o Networking and Workplace technologies
o Cybersecurity solutions and related technologies

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Previous experience in a customer-service or customer-facing role
• Demonstrable organisation skills, with a logical approach to problem solving
• Proven ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and cope with fluctuations in workloads
• Knowledge of industry best practice, incident management disciplines and networking principles
• Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-evolving threat landscape.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (C, C#, Python, Go, NIM etc)
• Experience in Cyber Security CTFs (Hack The Box, TryHackMe etc)
• Degree in Cyber Security, professional certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, Security Blue Team Level 1 (BTL1), GIAC GSEC, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIASecurity+
