Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to safeguard its digital assets in Rustenburg. You will monitor threats, investigate incidents, and implement proactive measures to strengthen the organization’s security posture in a challenging environment.

You’ll work with IT teams to ensure policy compliance, perform vulnerability assessments and tests, stay updated on threat trends, and contribute to the ongoing protection of sensitive data and systems through robust security controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM tools to detect and respond to threats in real-time.
• Conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents, identifying root causes and remediation actions.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address weaknesses.
