• Support the processing of customs declarations and tariff classifications under guidance.
• Verify documents such as invoices, packing lists and bills of lading.
• Track shipments and follow up on customs clearance delays.
• Maintain records and filing systems for customs.
• Support calculation of customs duties, VAT and other charges.
• Reconcile invoices and statements related to customs and purchases.
• Monitor costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare monthly reports on import costs and customs expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with SARS Customs and Excise requirements.
• Assist with audit records and documentation.
• Identify and escalate documentation errors and compliance risks.
• Monitor deadlines for submission of customs documentation.
• Administer permits, rebates and authorisations where relevant.
• Liaise with clearing agents, freight forwarders, suppliers and internal teams.
• Follow up on outstanding documentation and shipment status.
• Resolve queries related to customs clearance and duties.
• Maintain effective internal and external communication.
• Compile customs and duties reports using Excel and company systems.
• Maintain shipment trackers and duties registers.
• Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and turnaround times.
