Job summary

Smith Garb And Associates Cc in Sandton is seeking a driven and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role focuses on costing, BOM, inventory, and process improvement within a manufacturing environment.

You will analyse costs, prepare cost reports, and support budgeting and audits to ensure accurate cost allocations across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, cost accounting or management accounting.
• 3–5 years' cost accounting experience.
• Must be able to conduct business in Afrikaans.
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of BOM costing, inventory accounting, production variance analysis and standard costing.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• ERP or accounting systems experience.
• CIMA completed or studying will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate product costing and pricing models.
• Analyse manufacturing costs and production variances.
• Monitor inventory valuation and participate in stock counts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly manufacturing cost reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve manufacturing processes.
• Support audits and ensure accurate cost allocations across the business.
