Placements24 is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel in Mahikeng, North West to provide comprehensive legal support for corporate and commercial activities. The role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising on governance matters for the company and its subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and negotiation skills, with 4–6 years PQE, and be admitted as an attorney in SA.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of South African company law, governance, and commercial principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial matters, including contract drafting and negotiation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as supply, service, and joint venture contracts.
• Advise on governance matters, board resolutions, and statutory compliance for the company and subsidiaries.
• Manage legal risks related to operations, transactions, and relationships.
