ENSafrica is seeking a Mid-Level Paralegal / Conveyancing Secretary to join the Property Department in Johannesburg. The role focuses on managing conveyancing matters, transfers, registrations and ensuring timely updates to clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of conveyancing experience, strong organisational skills, and proficiency with conveyancing software and MS Office. Preference may be given to EE applicants; closing date is 9 September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Conveyancing Secretary and/or Property Paralegal.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in conveyancing software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working from digital files in a paperless environment.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Attending to all aspects of property transfers from instruction to registration.
  • Attending to bond registrations and bond cancellations.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, financial institutions, conveyancers, municipalities, and the Deeds Office.
  • Drafting and preparing conveyancing documentation.
  • Managing and maintaining electronic and digital files.
  • Monitoring transaction progress and ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines.
  • Providing regular updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality control throughout the conveyancing process.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Mid-Level Paralegal / Conveyancing Secretary to join our Property Department in our Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of conveyancing matters and supporting the property team in delivering efficient, high-quality legal services to clients.

1.1.1 Key Responsibilities
  • Attending to all aspects of property transfers from instruction to registration.
  • Attending to bond registrations and bond cancellations.

1.1.3 Advantageous Experience
  • Previous experience dealing with FNB Commercial Property Finance transactions will be a significant advantage.
  • Experience within a large law firm or high-volume property practice.
  • Additional secretarial and/or paralegal accreditation will be beneficial.
