Placements24 is assisting a mining-energy efficiency leader in Rustenburg, North West to find a skilled Control Systems Engineer. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining PLC/SCADA-based systems to optimize energy consumption and operational efficiency in mining processes.

You will develop software, integrate new technologies, and support maintenance teams while ensuring safety and cybersecurity standards. Strong background in automation and energy management is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, including industrial automation and SCADA.
• Proficiency in PLCs from major manufacturers (Siemens, Rockwell).
• Experience with SCADA software packages (Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Understanding of energy management principles in industrial settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience in mining sector is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment in North West.
