Tharisa Plc is seeking a Procurement Officer on a fixed-term contract in the North West region. The role focuses on sourcing, supplier negotiations, and end-to-end procurement, including contract management and budget adherence.

The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with SA mining regulations such as MPRDA and Mining Charter 2018, while driving cost efficiencies and timely delivery.

Qualificações

• Grade 12 or higher education in a procurement-related field.
• CIPS or CSCP certification or a related diploma/degree is preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry is advantageous.
• Must meet medical fitness requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; perform market research and supplier assessments.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships; negotiate favourable terms and ensure contract adherence.
• Manage end-to-end procurement process: requisition, sourcing, bidding, negotiation, PO creation, contract management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with needs and budget constraints.
• Draft, review, and monitor procurement contracts for compliance and delivery terms.
• Monitor budgets, analyze spending, identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with MPRDA, Mining Charter 2018, BEE and SA law requirements.
• Generate procurement data and reports; track OTIF and supplier performance.
