Job summary

First Recruitment Group are seeking a Mechanical Engineer on a contract basis to work on complex projects across the full lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning.

You will develop mechanical solutions for regulated environments, ensure compliance with UKCA/CE marking and Machinery Directive, coordinate design activities, produce technical reports and calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience developing mechanical engineering solutions across project phases.
• Knowledge of UKCA/CE marking and Machinery Directive.
• Familiarity with CDM, PUWER, LOLER, PED and Machinery Directive requirements.
• Experience in highly regulated industries.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engineering solutions across full lifecycle.
• Produce concept designs, detailed designs and design-for-manufacture solutions.
• Plan and coordinate engineering and design activities for yourself and others.
• Identify statutory, technical and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Produce technical reports, specifications and engineering calculations.
• Review engineering deliverables and design documentation.
• Present engineering solutions to stakeholders and design reviews.
• Support multidisciplinary project delivery teams to ensure success.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
