Job summary

First Recruitment Group seeks a Conventional Safety and CDM Advisor to lead health and safety and CDM duties on design projects in Birchwood, on a contract basis. The role requires a NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered IOSH status (or working towards), plus several years in a high‑risk or nuclear environment, with strong stakeholder engagement and regulatory knowledge.

You will chair hazard studies, develop safety strategies, and support design teams to apply the principles of prevention and hierarchy

Qualifications

• Experience leading health and safety and CDM on complex design projects.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Ability to engage with regulators, clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Conventional Health & Safety within design projects.
• Promote understanding of health and safety in design among designers.
• Chair hazard studies and work with design teams to manage conventional risks.
• Provide health & safety input into design reviews and safety documentation.
• Develop Conventional Safety Strategies and Reports proportionate to project risk.
