Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee health and safety across construction sites in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will develop, implement, and enforce H&S policies, conduct risk assessments, audits, inductions, and incident investigations to promote a proactive safety culture.

Qualifikationen

• A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is required (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, NOSA).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in construction.
• In-depth knowledge of the OHS Act and regulations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and investigations.
• Strong understanding of construction hazards and control measures.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office and related software.
• Valid driver's license.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety management systems on sites.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and non‑compliance.
• Ensure adherence to legislation, regulations and company policies.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training, including inductions.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety reports to management.
• Maintain safety records and risk assessments and method statements.
• Advise site management on health and safety matters.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the workforce.
• Ensure availability and proper use of PPE.
