Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our construction operations in Polokwane, South Africa. You will implement and enforce health and safety policies on site, promote a safety-first culture, and ensure compliance with OHS legislation.

The role requires a National Diploma or Bachelor's in OH&S, registration with SACPCMP/SAIOSH, and at least 3 years of construction HSE experience, with strong communication, report writing, and training skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Registered with SACPCMP or SAIOSH.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer in construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety management systems on construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act and related regulations.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training for site personnel.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, trainings and incident reports.
