Placements24 is seeking a diligent Construction Safety Officer for projects in Upington, Northern Cape. You will develop and enforce site safety protocols across industrial construction sites, ensuring adherence to OHS Act and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of construction safety experience, relevant OHS qualifications (SAMTRAC/NEBOSH), and strong communication and reporting skills to drive a proactive safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

Our client, a major player in the industrial construction sector, is seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on their projects in Upington, Northern Cape . This crucial role involves developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction site hazards and a proactive approach to risk management. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH).
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Safety Officer on construction sites.
• Proven experience in industrial construction projects is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
• Strong understanding of construction site hazards and risk assessment techniques.
• Excellent communication, observational, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a site team.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
• Reside in or be able to commute regularly to Upington, Northern Cape .
