Qualifications

Degree or National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
Registered as a Professional Construction Health and Safety Agent (Pr CHSA) with SACPCMP.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in managing health and safety in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction site safety practices and relevant legislation.
Proven experience in developing and implementing safety management systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage the overarching Health and Safety Management System for construction projects.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the OHS Act, and company safety policies.
Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement control measures.
Lead and manage safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

This senior role is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing risks associated with construction activities. You will develop and oversee safety programs, conduct audits, and provide expert guidance to project teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction safety standards and regulations in South Africa , contributing significantly to the well-being of all personnel involved in projects within the Gauteng region.
