Job summary

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to develop and manage comprehensive HSE programs across civil, water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.

The role requires leading audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with the OHS Act and Construction Regulations across multiple sites. A SACPCMP registration is required or eligible, with 8–10 years of relevant experience.

  • SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health & Safety Manager (or eligible for registration).
  • Strong knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations.
  • Experience conducting audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide Health & Safety management systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations, and client-specific requirements.
  • Lead all HSE activities across civil, mechanical, water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Compile, review, and maintain safety files, policies, procedures, and method statements.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and reduce risk.
  • Monitor contractor compliance and ensure adherence to project-specific HSE standards.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, inductions, and awareness campaigns.
  • Prepare and present HSE reports to senior management.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning across project sites.
Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health & Safety Manager (or eligible for registration).
  • Minimum 8-10 years' Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience on large-scale civil engineering, water, wastewater, infrastructure, mining, or industrial projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations.
  • Strong experience conducting audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience on water treatment plants, wastewater treatment works, pump stations, dams, reservoirs, pipelines, hydro power, or heavy civil construction projects.
  • ISO 45001 implementation and compliance experience.
  • Environmental and Quality Management exposure.
  • Multi-site project management experience.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability.
