About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join their team in Welkom . This role is fundamental to the company's success, involving the preparation of accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to calculate the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction costs, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure bids are competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Calculate quantities of materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for construction projects.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and analyze bids to determine the most cost-effective options.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and tender documents for submission to clients.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine estimates and identify potential cost savings.
• Maintain a database of historical cost information and update pricing for materials and labor.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis for different construction methods and materials.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
