Placements24 is seeking a diligent Compliance Officer to join our banking operations team in Mossel Bay. You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, ensuring adherence to SA banking regulations and internal policies.

This hybrid role involves risk assessments, training staff, coordinating with regulators and auditors, and guiding the organization through regulatory changes to protect the bank's integrity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in banking compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related legal field.
In-depth knowledge of South African banking regulations, AML/CFT, and KYC requirements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in risk management and internal controls within a financial institution.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance programs and policies aligned with current banking regulations.
Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches and areas for improvement.

About the Role

This role is crucial for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant banking regulations, laws, and internal policies. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to staff on regulatory matters. Working in a hybrid model, you'll contribute to maintaining the integrity and reputation of the bank within the scenic coastal environment of the Western Cape.
