Job summary

Hewitt Colenbrander Recruitment / HC Recruit is seeking an experienced SHEQ leader in South Africa to oversee SA SHEQ management and the integrated Management System (IMS), coordinate statutory reporting, audits and risk registers, and manage budgets for OPEX & CAPEX.

The role emphasizes driving ESG, climate resilience and LEAN initiatives, strong leadership, stakeholder engagement at all levels, and the ability to mobilise teams to meet deadlines while maintaining high integrity and compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SA SHEQ management and legislation.
• Experience: at least 3 years at management level.
• Manage integrated Management system (IMS).
• Oversee audits, legal register, risk register, incident investigation and CAPA close-out.
• Statutory reporting & liaison with regulators, customers and external auditors.
• Oversee outsourced functions - Security, Cleaning, Waste, Fire Services and manage OPEX & CAPEX budgets.
• Site access control, inductions, contractor files, and dispatch audits to prevent fraud.
• Drive ESG, sustainability, climate-resilience & LEAN initiatives.
