About the Role

Our client, a dynamic social impact organization based in the Port Elizabeth area, is seeking a motivated Community Outreach Coordinator to expand the reach and engagement of their various social programs. This role is critical in connecting with underserved communities, identifying needs, and mobilizing participation in initiatives focused on education, health, and social empowerment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator with a passion for community development and a proven ability to build strong relationships with diverse groups. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to engage target communities. Identify key stakeholders, community leaders, and organizations for partnership opportunities. Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions, both virtually and in-person (when necessary). Promote the organization's programs and services through various communication channels, including social media and digital platforms. Gather feedback from community members to assess program effectiveness and identify emerging needs. Recruit and coordinate volunteers for outreach activities. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and outcomes. Collaborate with internal program teams to ensure alignment and effective service delivery. Prepare reports on outreach efforts and their impact. Stay informed about community issues and relevant social development trends.

Requirements

Proven experience in community outreach, engagement, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Experience in event planning and facilitation (both online and offline). Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools. Ability to work independently and manage a remote work schedule effectively. Passion for social justice and community development. Knowledge of the social landscape and community needs in the Eastern Cape region is an advantage. A relevant qualification in Social Sciences, Community Development, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Ability to travel occasionally for essential in-person meetings or events if required.
