Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mental Health Support Facilitator in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, to provide non-clinical emotional support and connect clients with services. You will work with individuals and families, offer psycho-educational sessions, and help develop daily living routines within the community.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, active listening, and the ability to travel within the Queenstown area while maintaining confidentiality and a person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• A qualification in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, community health, or counseling is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Queenstown area.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical emotional support and companionship to individuals with mental health concerns.
• Assist clients in identifying and accessing appropriate mental health services and support groups.
• Facilitate psycho-educational sessions on mental health topics, coping strategies, and well-being.
• Support clients in developing daily living skills and routines.
• Act as a link between clients, their families, and mental health professionals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals accessing mental health support.
• Organize and lead support group meetings.
• Collaborate with the program team to develop and improve support services.
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all clients.
