Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Support Manager in Johannesburg, Gauteng to oversee and enhance delivery of community services. You will lead social workers, caregivers and support staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of care.

The role requires strong leadership, empathy, and operational acumen with travel within the region. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and at least 5 years in a management role within social care, plus experience with case management

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the Community & Social Care sector.
• Proven experience in managing teams and delivering community-based services.
• In-depth knowledge of social welfare legislation, policies, and best practices in South Africa.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including case management systems.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Johannesburg, Gauteng region.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor community support programs and initiatives.
• Manage a diverse team of social workers, caregivers, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of community care services, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, resources, and program expenditures effectively.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized care plans for service users.
• Ensure the highest quality of care and support is delivered to all individuals accessing services.
• Address and resolve any issues or complaints raised by service users or their families.
• Contribute to strategic planning and policy development for the organization's community outreach efforts.
• Uphold the organization's values and mission in all aspects of work.
