Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in community development or social work, with ≥2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of South Africa's social welfare policies, community dynamics, and relevant legislation.
• Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and client database systems.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the community.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to social justice and empowering marginalized communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive community support programs and initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of community support workers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Conduct needs assessments within the community to identify service gaps and opportunities for intervention.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, schools, and other community organizations.
• Oversee the budget for community programs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, reporting on outcomes and impact to senior management.
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Manage client case files, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection policies.
• Respond to community crises and emergencies, providing immediate support and coordination of resources.
• Advocate for the needs of community members with relevant authorities and service providers.
