Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Community Development Practitioner to bolster sustainable development in the Mahikeng region. You will facilitate needs assessments, coordinate participatory planning, and drive impactful projects with residents and local authorities.

The role focuses on empowering communities, fostering economic growth, and enhancing social infrastructure while building collaborations with diverse stakeholders for long-term impact.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma in Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in community development practice.
• Proven track record in project management and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of development theories, participatory approaches, and local governance.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within diverse community settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments and facilitate participatory planning processes.
• Develop and manage community development projects from conception to implementation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and stakeholders.
• Mobilize community resources and facilitate community participation in development initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact and sustainability of development projects.
• Provide training and capacity building to community members and local groups.
