Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles safely and efficiently on long-haul routes.
• Transport goods and materials to various destinations across the country, adhering to strict delivery schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and cargo, ensuring roadworthiness and safety.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details using company-provided systems.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies, prioritizing safety at all times.
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the fleet manager.
• Provide excellent customer service during pickup and delivery, maintaining professional conduct.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle assigned.
• Effectively manage time to meet delivery deadlines while ensuring compliance with driving hour regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with an appropriate PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a commercial driver, with specific experience in long-haul transport.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements or accidents.
• Proven ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers safely and competently.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs accurately.

• Must be physically fit and capable of performing the duties of the role, including loading/unloading if required.
