Cecilegroup in Sandton seeks an experienced Associate Attorney (Commercial Litigation) to join our team. You will handle drafting, research, client consultations and strategic guidance across High Court and Magistrates Court matters, ensuring progress from inception to completion.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years post-admission experience, proven expertise in commercial litigation, and excellent drafting, analytical and organizational skills to thrive under pressure and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years post-admission experience.
• Proven experience in Commercial Litigation.
• Strong drafting and legal research skills.
• Experience handling High Court and Magistrates Court matters.
• Strong understanding of commercial dispute resolution and litigation processes.
• Ability to manage matters independently from inception to completion.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, notices, affidavits, opinions and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice
• Attend client consultations and provide strategic litigation guidance
• Handle matters in the High Court and Magistrates' Court
• Brief and liaise with counsel where required
• Manage files and ensure matters progress efficiently
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Drafting various documents including inter alia: pleadings, affidavits, agreements and general correspondence
