Job summary

Codeconnect Staffing is seeking a hands-on Financial Manager to own the finance function and drive commercial decision-making across the organisation. You will focus on job costing, margin analysis, pricing and profitability while reporting to the COO and collaborating with the owner and executives.

The role is on-site in Roodepoort, Gauteng, requiring 6–10 years post-qualification experience in relevant sectors and a strong costing background.

Qualifications

• CIMA qualified, or CA(SA) with strong commercial costing experience.
• 6–10 years post-qualification experience, including at least three years within services, field services, construction, engineering or manufacturing.
• Proven experience building a job or product costing model from scratch.
• Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, pricing and margin analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; Xero experience would be advantageous.
• Commercially minded and comfortable working closely with operational teams to understand costs and profitability.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional branches occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, including monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting and management reporting.
• Oversee debtors, creditors, banking, payment controls, payroll and statutory submissions, working with external accounting support where required.
• Maintain the integrity of the accounting system and strengthen financial processes and controls.
• Build and implement job-level costing models across labour, materials, callouts, travel and other operational costs.
• Analyse margins and profitability by branch, work type and technical team, identifying opportunities to improve performance.
• Review and develop pricing models, using accurate costing and margin data to support commercial and rate negotiations.
• Analyse fleet costs on a cost-per-kilometre and cost-per-job basis and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting, including seasonal and capacity modelling to account for fluctuations in business volumes.
• Provide practical financial insights to the COO and executive team to support pricing, operational and strategic decision-making.
