Job summary

Smart4 Energy, Gauteng, is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the Managing Director, Sales and Procurement teams. The role includes reporting to the Group CFO based in the USA, with a focus on driving commercial performance in a multinational mining and engineering services context.

The position offers a challenging senior management environment, with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy and financial controls

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ post article experience.
• 3–5 years within a similar role.
• Experience within mining, engineering, industrial, manufacturing or related sectors would be highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial finance function within the South African business.
• Partner closely with the MD, CFO and Sales leadership to drive commercial performance.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Manage and oversee the Procurement function, ensuring effective cost management and supplier performance.
• Work closely with Sales on pricing, margins, profitability and commercial strategy.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Analyse business performance, identify trends and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting and commercial processes.
• Support the business with strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders and contribute to Group reporting requirement
