Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager in Paarl, Western Cape to draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements. You will work with sales, procurement, and operations to protect company interests and ensure contractual obligations are met.

The role requires a law degree or equivalent qualification and at least 4 years of complex contract experience, with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification is highly preferred, coupled with significant experience in commercial contract management.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial business practices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including supplier agreements, customer contracts, service level agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from creation to execution and ongoing administration.
• Ensure contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risks and obligations.
• Collaborate with legal, sales, procurement, and finance teams to ensure contract clarity and alignment.
• Maintain a central repository of all contracts and track key dates and obligations.
• Assist in resolving contractual disputes and identifying potential areas for improvement in contract processes.
• Develop and implement standardized contract templates and clauses.
