Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Construction Site Manager to lead a new commercial development project in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role combines hands-on site leadership with office planning, coordinating trades, resources, and subcontractors to deliver on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

You will liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients while maintaining safety and productivity on site.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management with proven project delivery.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6 and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all on-site construction activities and ensure adherence to plans.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and resource plans.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Lead and motivate a diverse site team including subcontractors.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality and safety.
• Manage materials, equipment, and labor to optimize costs.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate with management and clients.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of site resources.
• Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly.
