Job summary

MCI is seeking experienced Collections Agents to join our Cape Town team. You will engage with customers on overdue balances, discuss payment options, and document interactions. The role requires 2–3 years in collections, Grade 12, and the ability to balance firm collections with a positive customer experience.

Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office is advantageous. Successful candidates will be drug screened and must be able to work in a fast-paced care environment in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / NSC or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit control, or a collections-focused contact centre.
• Must pass a drug screening assessment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue accounts, outstanding balances, and payment concerns through phone and other channels.
• Assist customers with payments and understanding balances, due dates, and status.
• Discuss and arrange appropriate payment solutions per guidelines.
• Investigate and resolve billing questions, discrepancies, disputes, and account concerns.
• Explain options for restoring services after interruptions due to overdue accounts.
• Follow up on balances and monitor accounts to encourage timely payment.
