Job summary

Southern Oil (Pty) Ltd seeks a qualified driver to operate heavy vehicles (28 tons and above) for timely deliveries to clients. You will maintain vehicle cleanliness per food safety standards, complete delivery documentation, and support warehouse tasks as needed.

Requirements include Grade 12, a valid code 10/14 license with PDP, and at least 2 years of code 14 driving experience. Safety and client relations are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Valid code 10/14 drivers’ license with a valid PDP.
• At least 2 years code 14 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Timeous delivery of goods to clients.
• Reporting maintenance requirements.
• Preventative maintenance.
• Ensure that necessary equipment is on truck to ensure product can be offloaded at the client in the correct manner.
• Always maintain excellent client relationships and a professional image.
• Completion of checklists.
• Ensure the truck is neat and clean according to food safety standards.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Responsible for delivery documentation.
• Ensure that all taupe line covers are all fastened, and truck is correctly loaded, according to delivery addresses.
• Ensure correct offloading at clients.
• Ensure compliance to Safety, food safety, and environmental procedures and as per Soill Policy.
• Responsible for all documentation - Delivery notes trip sheets, vehicle inspections etc.
• Assist with warehouse related tasks as and when required such as (but not limited to) stock counts, rotation of stock, housekeeping, offloading/loading of trucks.

• Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
• Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
• Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
• Attend safety education and refresher programmesComply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
• Distribute safety information as and when required
• Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
