Job summary

Lactalis South Africa in East London is seeking a professional Driver Code 14 for the Distribution department, reporting to the Operations Manager. The role requires a valid Code 14 license with PrDP and a proven ability to analyse problems and manage situations on route.

You will be responsible for deliveries, stock in transit, documentation, and maintaining a neat, safe, and compliant vehicle. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential to uphold the company's service

Qualifications

• Valid code 14 driver’s license with PrDP.
• At least two years’ experience as code 14 truck driver.
• Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be customer service oriented.
• Ability and knowledge to perform pre-trip vehicle checks.
• Basic numerical skills.
• Ensure all Documentation is signed off by relevant persons.

Responsibilities

• Preservation of stock in transit.
• Monitoring and recording the cool unit reading.
• Deliveries, collection of return stock and completion of relevant documentation and reporting
• Vehicle handling and safe driving - Follow all road safety procedures and adhere to legislation
• Drive vehicle with due caution and care.
• Building and maintaining a positive image at all times
• Ensures a safe and healthy working environment for all
