Job summary

Virgin Active South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Club General Manager in Stellenbosch to drive overall operational and financial performance of the club, ensuring profitability, brand standards and strong people leadership.

The successful candidate will manage income and expenses against budget, lead recruitment and development of staff, enhance member experience and oversee health and safety, while monitoring competitor activity and market conditions.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent NQF level 4 is essential.
• Previous managerial experience at Club General Manager level or as 2IC with a proven leadership track record.
• Completion of internal Learn to Fly programme.
• Financial proficiency and strong financial acumen.
• Strong market insight and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure club operates as a profitable business unit and control income/expenses against budget.
• Manage operations, health and safety and ensure adherence to standards.
• Recruit, develop and train staff and communicate effectively to club personnel.
• Provide exceptional member-focused customer service and resolve queries per policy.
• Conduct competitor analysis and inform senior management of risks.
