Job summary

Sage Intacct Essentials in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking a Sales Consultant to drive new business opportunities and help Sage customers move from Sage 50 to a modern, cloud-based financial management solution.

You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close, engaging business owners and finance leaders to demonstrate business value and close deals. Hybrid role with on-site presence required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced B2B software environment.
• Strong experience in business-to-business sales, ideally within technology, software or a solutions-based environment.
• Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to negotiation and close.
• Strong prospecting skills and the confidence to engage customers through telephone, email and digital channels.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence discussing value, pricing and proposals with customers.
• Ability to build credible relationships with business owners, finance leaders and other senior decision-makers.
• Confidence handling objections and progressing complex customer conversations.
• Strong pipeline management, forecasting and follow-up discipline in Salesforce.
• Certification on Sage Intacct Essentials would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and initial customer engagement through to commercial close and handover.
• Achieve agreed sales targets by converting qualified leads and migration opportunities into Sage Intacct Essentials customers.
• Proactively engage existing Sage customers who may benefit from moving from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct Essentials.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, with clear next steps and consistent follow-up across opportunities.
• Conduct discovery conversations to understand customers' financial processes, challenges, growth plans, reporting needs and migration requirements.
• Translate customer needs into a compelling Sage Intacct Essentials value proposition focused on tangible business outcomes.
• Confidently manage customer questions and objections around cost, migration, implementation, change and cloud.
• Coordinate product demonstrations tailored to individual customer requirements.
• Prepare commercial proposals, manage negotiations and progress opportunities toward signed agreements.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, pipeline and forecast information in the CRM.
• Partner with migration, onboarding, professional services and other teams to ensure a smooth sale-to-implementation transition.
