Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Clinical Trials Manager to oversee Phase I–IV trials from planning to completion in Gauteng, with site activity across the region. You will ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity and vendor oversight.

The role requires a Life Sciences, Nursing or Pharmacy degree (Master’s preferred), 5+ years in trial management, strong leadership and PM skills, and willingness to travel.

About the Role

The Clinical Trials Manager will be instrumental in the planning, execution, and completion of Phase I-IV clinical trials, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive clinical trial protocols, budgets, and timelines.
• Oversee the selection, training, and management of clinical investigative sites and site staff.
• Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, FDA regulations, and other applicable local and international regulatory requirements.
• Monitor clinical trial progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage data collection, review, and database lock processes.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and pharmacovigilance.
• Prepare and present trial status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure successful execution of outsourced activities.
• Facilitate site audits and regulatory inspections.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of clinical trial operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related discipline; Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical trial management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Proven experience in managing all phases of clinical trials (Phase I-IV).
• In-depth knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory submission processes.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in data management and statistical analysis interpretation.
• Ability to travel as required to investigative sites and relevant meetings.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote setting, managing teams and projects across different locations.
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical research environment in Tembisa, Gauteng is a plus.
