Job summary

Department of Health is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee hospital cleaning operations and supervise a team of cleaners. You will ensure cleanliness standards are met and manage PMDS contracts and annual evaluations.

The role requires Grade 11/AET Level 4 with 3–5 years of cleaning experience, strong supervision skills, and computer literacy. The position is based in Gauteng and reports to the Department of Health. Closing date: 11-09-2026.

Requirements

Duties

• Development and training of subordinates. Facilitation of operational process and Projects. Supervision of the cleaners and the cleaning functions. Ensure that the Hospital environment is clean. Do PMDS contracts and Evaluations on Annual bases. Conducting quarterly stock taking of all available supplies, cleaning equipment and materials. Write VA2s for ordering/purchasing new stock, cleaning materials and equipment when required. Distribution of cleaning materials and equipment. Allocation of staff to all the service points, Offices/Units, and clinics. Controlling and monitoring of cleaning performance, Inspections, and reconciliation of leave forms and record keeping. Complete, monitor and submission of overtime claim forms to HR. Knowledge of HR and Finance will be an added advantage. Knowledge of using cleaning equipment. Decision making skills. Planning, Organizing, Leadership and Control skills. Attend various relevant meetings. Communication skills. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor that are related to the job description that is lawful.
