Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness invites applications for a permanent cleaning position across Strand CDC, Gustrouw CDC and Michael Mapongwana CDC. You will maintain general cleanliness, handle cleaning equipment and ensure hygienic conditions in a health facility.
The role requires basic literacy, ability to lift heavy items, and willingness to work shifts, including nights and overtime as needed at Michael Mapongwana CDC. Experience in healthcare cleaning is preferred.
R 144 024 per annum - R 169 656 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

General cleaning and maintenance of cleaning equipment. Dust, sweeping, polish, scrub and mop floors, passages, furniture, empty dustbins and sort soiled linen according to correct cleaning procedures. Effective use of cleaning agents and stock. Responsible for general hygiene and safe environment. Handling cleaning equipment. Assist with the offloading and unpacking of stock and perform relief duties.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies. Perform overtime, work shifts, (public holidays and night duty only at Michael Mapongwana CDC).
Ability to work effectively in a team, independently and unsupervised, accepting accountability and responsibility. Able to handle conflict and the ability to work under pressure.

Appropriate cleaning experience at a Health facility or hospital.
