Job summary

Durpro Workforce Solutions is seeking a Production Operator to follow detailed work instructions and prepare materials for production runs in South Africa. The role involves handling punched cartons, loading to guides, and printing shipper labels.

You will operate glue stations, adjust folding guides, perform quality checks, and ensure cartons meet specifications while completing timesheets and maintaining equipment integrity.

Responsibilities

• Reads job card carefully, thoroughly understanding work instructions before proceeding with production run.
• Ensures Punched Cartons are ready for production prior to Glue run.
• Ensures Specific Shippers are available for Production Run.
• Prepare and Print Shipper Labels for Production Run.
• Load Punched Cartons into Feeder Guides.
• Inch Punch Cartons into Pre-Fold Section, and set per Standard Operating Procedure.
• Inch Punched Carton into Glue Pot Section or overhead glue station depending on type of carton required.
• Adjust Folding Guides to form Punched Carton into shipper box per Wt. Specification.
• Inch Punched Carton to the Delivery Section and set Deliver Guides.
• Set clam machine Counting Unit to Specific Batch Knock Shipper and Wt. Specification.
• Check Delivered Cartons for Correct Formation, Glue Position and Adhesion.
• Ensure cartons are packed correctly as per Wt. Specification.
• Complete Timesheet.
• Remove Additional Change parts from clam machine.
• Pre-form and Stack required Shippers at clam machine.
• Apply Labels to Pre-Stacked Shippers.
• Use Punched Cartons to Set Glue-line Per Operating Standard.
• Set Pre-fold, Glue Pot and Delivery Sections per Operating Standard.
• Check Carton Formation and Glue Adhesion.
• Ensures Formed Carton Conforms to Quality Spec.
