Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience as Site Agent or similar site management role.
• Proven civil infrastructure project experience including roads and earthworks.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, QA, and HSE compliance.
• Registered professional status (SACPCMP or ECSA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day execution of civil construction projects.
• Plan labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials efficiently.
• Ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to spec.
• Monitor progress and prepare site reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Mentor site personnel to achieve project objectives.

Job description

RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their team on civil infrastructure projects in Durban and the surrounding areas.

This role is suited to a hands-on construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale civil works, leading site teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day execution of civil construction projects.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification.
• Monitor project progress and prepare site reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Manage quality assurance, contractual compliance, and health and safety requirements.
• Mentor and supervise site personnel to achieve project objectives.

Requirements:

• National Diploma, BTech, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years' experience as a Site Agent or in a similar site management role within the civil construction industry.
• Proven experience on civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer reticulation, and related municipal infrastructure.
• Professional registration as one of the following: Pr CM with SACPCMP, or Pr Tech, Pr Techni, or Pr Eng with ECSA.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, construction methodologies, quality management, and health and safety legislation.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites.
