Job summary

Together Staffing group in the Western Cape seeks an experienced Site Agent to lead the successful execution of major building projects. You will oversee site operations, manage safety and quality, and drive programmes to meet milestones.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with 5+ years’ construction experience and at least 3 years in a Site Agent role. Travel to project sites and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related built environment field.
• Minimum 5 years’ technical construction experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a Site Agent or site management role.

Responsibilities

• Manage site operations from start to finish.
• Ensure on-time delivery, within budget and high quality.
• Promote and monitor health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Ensure quality assurance and lifecycle compliance.
• Drive short- and long-term construction programmes to milestones.
• Monitor costs to maximise commercial performance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare progress reports to meet contractual obligations.
• Report to Contracts Manager and contribute to project delivery.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related built environment qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ technical construction experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Site Agent or site management role
• Professional registration with SACPCMP as a Construction Manager advantageous
• Proven experience delivering large-scale building construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction programming, quality management, and cost control
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Sound knowledge of construction health and safety legislation
• Ability to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours when required

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all site operations from project commencement through to completion
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Promote, manage, enforce, and monitor health, safety, and environmental compliance on site
• Take full responsibility for quality assurance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive short- and long-term construction programmes to achieve project milestones
• Monitor and control project costs to maximise commercial performance
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient project execution
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
• Prepare progress reports and ensure contractual obligations are met
• Report directly to the Contracts Manager and contribute to the successful delivery of projects
