Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer to manage municipal water, sanitation, and road projects in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams through planning, design, construction, and commissioning while liaising with municipal officials and contractors.

The role demands strong civil engineering fundamentals, 6+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools. A professional ECSA registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Engr.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering projects and project management.
• Experience in design and/or supervision of water, sanitation, or roads infrastructure.
• Familiarity with South African municipal engineering standards, procedures, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects (water, wastewater, roads).
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure design compliance and safety.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering projects and project management.
• Proven experience in the design and/or supervision of water, sanitation, or roads infrastructure.
• Familiarity with municipal engineering standards, procedures, and procurement processes in South Africa.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, relevant hydraulic modeling software).
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Experience working with local government clients is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license.
