Qualifications

• 5+ years of Revit modelling experience.

Job Description

• An experienced user in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) or Bentley OpenBuildings / Microstation who can model and produce drawings with limited supervision
• Checks and coordinates project BIM models and deliverables to ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards and project BIM Execution Plan
• Checks the completeness & accuracy of your work before review by the Senior Engineer or designated senior team member.
• Follow coordination strategy and reporting using Navisworks and other coordination software and supports the team through the delivery phase
• Adopts creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks, undertakes appropriate research, and develops documentation to support these solutions
• Assist with the management and coordination of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information.
• Manages projects in BIM360
• Organizes own and others work to achieve set deadlines
• Keeps abreast of the latest software/ techniques to increase productivity

Qualifications

• Ability to fulfil all the above duties and responsibilities
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once
• Good technical knowledge of practice line discipline
• Understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines
• Computational skills - Dynamo / Grasshopper / Python
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks, presentation software and working on projects in a BIM environment
• Develops BIM content based on BIM modelling standards and as outlined in BEP
• Knowledge of Industry BIM standards, processes, and general approaches
• Knowledge to set up the configuration and administration of projects for respective discipline in Revit and AutoCAD
• Technical knowledge of concrete, steelwork, and reinforcement 3D modelling
• Minimum 5 years' experience of relevant Revit modelling
• BIM Qualification / Diploma / bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction
• Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
• Good commercial awareness / risk management skills
• Good planning and organizational skills

Environmental Civil Engineer

Our client, a dynamic engineering firm committed to sustainable development, is seeking an Environmental Civil Engineer to join their collaborative team in Soweto, Gauteng. This role is integral to designing and implementing projects that minimize environmental impact and promote ecological balance, including waste management facilities, water pollution control, and remediation strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental regulations, civil engineering principles, and a passion for sustainable practices. You will contribute to projects that enhance the environmental quality and public health within the Soweto, Gauteng area and beyond. This hybrid role allows for effective coordination between office-based design and essential site-based activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions for environmental engineering challenges, such as landfill design, wastewater treatment systems, and contaminated site remediation.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and prepare necessary documentation for regulatory approval.
• Ensure designs and construction activities comply with all relevant environmental legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, geologists, and regulatory agencies.
• Perform site investigations, feasibility studies, and data analysis to inform project design.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
• Oversee construction activities related to environmental projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Monitor environmental performance of projects and develop mitigation measures as needed.
• Stay updated on environmental policies, technologies, and best practices.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate project objectives and findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental civil engineering projects.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and impact assessment procedures in South Africa.
• Proficiency in relevant design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, relevant water/wastewater modeling tools).
• Experience in waste management, water/wastewater treatment, or site remediation is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings in and around Soweto, Gauteng.
