Job summary

AECOM, a global infrastructure leader, seeks a BIM/Civil-Structural modeller in Cape Town. You will develop BIM models in Revit, ensure deliverables meet client standards, and coordinate with the team using Navisworks. The role emphasizes timely delivery and ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• Proficient in BIM modelling with Revit and related tools.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, processes and project execution.
• Experience with 3D modelling for structures (concrete/steel).

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver BIM content with supervision.
• Prepare BIM models and deliverables per client requirements and BIM Execution Plan.
• Check completeness and accuracy before senior review.
• Coordinate using Navisworks and other tools; support delivery phase.
• Manage and coordinate model and drawing information flows.
• Manage projects in BIM360.
• Organise work to meet deadlines.
• Stay updated on software and techniques to improve productivity.

Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

• Some experience in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) or Bentley OpenBuildings / Microstation to model and produce drawings with direct supervision
• Prepare BIM models and deliverables to ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards and project BIM Execution Plan
• Checks the completeness & accuracy of your work before review by the Senior Engineer or designated senior team member.
• Follow coordination strategy and reporting using Navisworks and other coordination software and supports the team through the delivery phase
• Assist with the management and coordination of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information.
• Manages projects in BIM360
• Organizes own work to achieve set deadlines
• Keeps abreast of the latest software/ techniques to increase productivity

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• Ability to fulfil all the above duties and responsibilities
• Some technical knowledge of structures practice line discipline
• Knowledge of Industry BIM standards, processes, and general approaches
• Some technical knowledge and experience of concrete, steelwork, and reinforcement 3D modelling
• Minimum 1 years’ experience of relevant Revit modelling
• BIM Qualification / Diploma / bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction
• Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
• Good planning and organizational skills
