Job summary

AECOM seeks a Civil Engineer to contribute to infrastructure projects in South Africa, focusing on bulk earthworks, water systems, and road design. You will model with Civil 3D and Revit, size pumps and tanks, and help prepare design documents.

You will join a global team delivering water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings projects. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for client satisfaction and project delivery.

Qualifications

• B.Eng. or BScEng degree required.
• M.Eng degree advantageous.
• Solid experience in building services design (water, sewerage, stormwater, ducting, roads).
• Experience leading small design projects and time frame estimates.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver to clients.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Senior/Associate Engineer, design civil works including bulk earthworks, water reticulation, pavement design, stormwater, sewerage, road geometry and cable ducts.
• Model civil services in Civil 3D and Revit.
• Specify, analyze and size civil engineering equipment such as submersible pumps, interceptors and tanks.
• Take responsibility for civil design and drawings.
• Collaborate with project team and contractors.
• Attend planning, design and site meetings and perform ad-hoc site inspections.
• Independently manage low-complexity projects.
• Support QA to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Assist with bid and proposal compilation.
