Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a results-driven Construction Manager to oversee civil works projects in Vereeniging. You will manage on-site operations, coordinate contractors, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and maintain project schedules and budgets.

This hands-on leader will apply strong knowledge of civil construction methods and materials, lead diverse teams, and drive quality from site preparation through to project completion.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, civil works.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and budgets.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise all on-site construction activities for civil engineering projects.
• Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality of work and adherence to contracts.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety regulations on site.
• Manage site resources, including equipment, materials, and labor.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
