Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Clinical Child Psychology or Developmental Psychology is required.
• Registered with HPCSA as a Psychologist.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Child Psychologist specializing in Early Intervention to join their dedicated team in Soweto . You will provide essential psychological assessments, diagnostic services, and therapeutic interventions for young children and their families facing developmental challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of child development, mental health, and family systems, with a focus on early identification and support to maximize positive outcomes. You will be instrumental in guiding families and children towards healthier development within a supportive clinical setting in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for infants and young children.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide therapeutic interventions (e.g., play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy) to address developmental, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals (e.g., pediatricians, educators) to ensure a holistic approach to child development.
• Offer support and psychoeducation to families, empowering them to support their child's growth and well-being.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Child Psychology or Developmental Psychology.
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychologist.
• Specialized training and experience in early intervention and working with young children.
• Proficiency in various psychological assessment tools and therapeutic modalities for children.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal skills.
