Job summary

Finselect Personnel Pty Ltd in Midrand, Gauteng, is seeking a Head of Procurement to lead the procurement function across the business. You will design and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost savings while ensuring compliance and governance.

The role requires extensive leadership experience, strong negotiation and financial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations and Warehousing.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ procurement experience with at least 3 years in a management/senior leadership role.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and financial skills.
• Experience in supplier and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s procurement strategy and policies.
• Manage supplier selection, evaluation, negotiations and performance.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and delivery agreements.
• Identify cost-saving and value-adding opportunities.
• Ensure effective purchasing processes and compliance with company policies.
• Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and supplier risks.
• Ensure quality, availability and timely delivery of products and services.
• Lead, manage and develop the procurement team.
• Ensure accurate procurement records, reporting and documentation.
• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Warehousing and other departments.
