Job summary

Recruitpro Solutions in Centurion, South Africa, is seeking an experienced procurement leader to guide the local procurement team and align supply with production needs.

You will convert MRP requirements into purchase orders, run RFQs and negotiations within delegated authority, and address supplier shortages before production. The role emphasizes supplier development, cost reduction, and system/process discipline with visibility to group level when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain, commerce or industrial engineering; CIPS desirable.
• 7+ years procurement/supply chain experience in a manufacturing or engineered-product environment.
• 3+ years leading buyers or holding purchasing authority.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, components, bearings, polymers or comparable industrial inputs.
• Strong ERP experience, SYSPRO strongly preferred, including MRP, purchase orders and lead-time/MOQ maintenance.
• Ability to read BOMs, drawings and technical specifications.
• Practical supplier performance management: OTIF, scorecards, corrective action, supplier development.
• Comfortable using AI/digital tools for RFQ comparison, exception management and reporting.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 procurement controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the local procurement team through daily exception management, converting MRP requirements into purchase orders, and driving RFQs and negotiations.
• Resolve supplier shortages before they hit production and escalate strategic decisions when required.
• Drive local supplier development, cost reduction and system/process discipline.
