Placements24 is seeking an experienced Chief Pilot to oversee flight operations in George, Western Cape. The role leads the pilot group, directs training programs, and plans flight schedules to meet safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have ATPL, 5000+ hours with 1500 PIC in multi-engine, and proven senior management experience in aviation. Willingness to relocate to George is required.

Qualifications

• ATPL with current ratings on applicable aircraft types.
• Total of 5000 flight hours, with 1500 PIC in multi-engine ops.
• Senior aviation management experience required.
• Strong knowledge of aviation law, regulatory frameworks and SMS.
• Excellent leadership, decision making and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or related field preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to George, Western Cape.

Responsabilités

• Direct and manage the flight operations department, ensuring regulatory compliance (SACAA, ICAO).
• Develop and oversee flight crew training programs, recurrent training and proficiency checks.
• Manage rostering and scheduling of flight crews with proper duty time compliance.
• Lead and mentor the pilot cadre, fostering safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities on flight operations matters.
• Develop and review SOPs and operational manuals.
• Oversee flight data monitoring and incident investigations with corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, ground operations and commercial teams.
